Hey guys I continued updating this thread over on the other Corvair Forum beyond 2015. Anyhow the car is going up for sale on Bring A Trailer soon. Here are photos and videos that will be in the upcoming listing. Thanks for everyone's help here! https://oi1273.photobucket.com/albums/y410/1964MSC/IMG ...

Re: Any experience with the Knocksense system?

Re: Clutch adjustment
The currently available throw out bearings are different from the originals. They are made to remain in contact with the pressure plate and turn all the time. No problem with adjusting tighter to get the pedal feel you desire. I had same issue... At the service manual settings it's way too close to ...

Re: Turbo AFR numbers...
Ray Sedman (who supplied my wideband setup) told me not to trust the AFR readings at idle. Set it where it runs best and forget it. Use AFR to tune your rods/jets to maintain the desired AFR when cruising and under power.

You need the Assembly manual, not the Accessories manual...the path is diagrammed in the Factory Assembly Manual.

Re: Fuel controller
Rays was my first choice but I have been waiting for a few months after he said he needs to assemble them. Jeff Same here. I have been unable to get a response from him for months. I have done business w/ him in the past so he knows who I am. I think he's too busy for Corvair stuff over the past ...

Re: Fuel controller
I have one too, great way to convert to an electric pump without all the oil pressure and inertia switch wiring. Retains the stock engine bay look as you don't need the oil pressure sensor, etc.

Re: 180 improvements
My recommendations based on my experiences for someone who wants to improve drivability and performance somewhat but generally retain a mostly stock look to the engine bay and car: -Get rid of the original turbo heads and use modified 95HP heads or 62-63 cylinder heads to eliminate spark knock ...

Re: LED TAIL LIGHT BULBS
I installed full exterior LED bulbs from SuperbrightLEDs.com along with their LED flasher which does require it's own ground. On my EM I was able to easily ground it at the turn signal switch (which is screwed to the steering column right next to the fuse box), not sure if it's that easy on your '69 ...

Re: Rod knock?
Once you have ruled out the lifters you can find a rod knock by grounding out each spark plug with a test light, one at a time. If the noise changes on one you found the location of your problem.

Not trying to start rumors but this whole thing has had me wondering from the beginning if OPGI is buying out Clarks and merging them into their group of brands.

Re: '64 transaxel dipstick attach question
Your photo is correct. If you care the correct bracket hardware is an externally toothed lock washer and a jam nut per the factory assembly manual.
