Re: 66 Corsa Project

Joe, that's a lot more complete than your last project. ::-): Looks like a good solid base to start with. Good luck can't wait to see it done. Jeff

Re: Vairs @ The World of Wheels

Thanks for the comments guys. The engine display was a huge hit. All weekend long myself and other club members were talking to guy's about it and explaining things. Here's a few more pictures of it. Jeff http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w171/72BBNova/DSC09184.jpg http://i176.photobucket.com ...

Vairs @ The World of Wheels

Circle City Corvairs in Indianapolis had a 4 space display at the World of Wheels at the state fair grounds this past weekend. There were two 65 Corsa convertible's, a Yenko Stinger "tag #303" and a exploded view of a Corvair engine display. We also had a power point video running all weekend with ...

Re: Weber upgrade advise and build thread

I'm building a air cleaner like you did, but I doubt it will be as nice as yours. I was wondering where you got the tubes from. Regards Alex I bought them from Carbs Unlimited here's the link, http://www.carburetion.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?Part=CU40-26" onclick="window.open(this.href ...

Re: Radio advice

I had my factory radio converted to an AM/FM stereo last summer. Not the cheapest way to go but it looks and works great. Here's a few links that might help. The first one is the company that makes the component's, the second is the guy that did my conversion out of Nashville TN., and the third is a ...

I'll second that :tu:. Nick found a couple things with the brand new bearing that I sent him that I never would have seen. Money well spent, thanks again Nick. :not worthy:

Re: transmission death rattle at low idle

I've had both of those issues happen on two different car's. First the torque converter bolts were loose, I would get a loud rattle in park when I would give it gas. Second was a broken flex plate where it bolted to the flange on the crank, same type of noise doing the same thing, in park and giving ...

Re: EDIS Revisited?

I've decided to do this to my Spyder now after reading more about it. I can do it for less then half the price of the MSD box and coil I was looking at and I think it would be a better system.

Re: top cover torque specs and sequence

Thanks Brad your the best. I've been working on this thing all winter and just keep running into small road blocks along the way. I'm hoping to get it going so I can drive it to Knoxville in June. Thanks again Jeff.

top cover torque specs and sequence

I'm changing my top cover to a LM bigger bearing, what are the torque specs for the bolts and is there a sequence. I can't find my manuals to look it up. Thanks Jeff

Re: Weber upgrade advise and build thread

Such a great post! I had all the same questions. The one piece I am missing in the info provided is what lb rating am looking for in a wastegate? I have the exact setup as the OP. 10lb? I wasn't planning on running bug juice.. but if it is hugely helpful and requires tapping in a basic nossle maybe ...

Re: Are prices rising on our beloved cars?

Yes definitely going up. Back in November I went to an estate auction that had a 64 Spyder coupe, body and paint was about a 6 out of 10, interior was maybe a 4-5,and the motor was just bad, wouldn't take the gas, ran on 5 cylinders and sat idling there for probably 25 minutes strait and never ...

Re: Weber upgrade advise and build thread

I got my alcohol/meth tank back today. I still need to have a couple openings put in. I plan on painting it yellow to match the engine compartment. I'm going to use a Turbo Start battery on the tank.
