Re: My '64 Rampy
Oh hey, that's super cool, Gary......nice to see progress! Do you have a (somewhat) estimated time of completion yet? What's the final color combo gonna be? I believe the truck originally belonged to Bell Telephone because of its lack of options and olive drab paint underneath. So, I was thinking ...

Re: My '64 Rampy
I haven't posted any updates in a while... here are a few pics of the on going progress.
I'm into the project pretty deep right now ($$) and unfortunately it doesn't look like I'll be able to continue with it at this time or in the near future.
Anybody interested in taking over?

Re: Plastic Headlight Adjuster Replacement
I'm not sure if the plastic headlight adjusters are the same for EM and LM but I resently fixed the ones on my FC. If the plastic adjusters are broken off then the rivets must be drilled out and the adjusters replaced. However, if they are not broken but just won't hold the headlight adjustment ...

3.55 are good.
If you have a '61 FC 4 speed transmission with 4.27 first gear, try running 3.27 diff.

Re: ?? corvan or greenbirer??
You are correct, any Corvair van with no windows is a Corvan. All Greenbriers have windows all the way around and all Corvans are panel vans. To the best of my knowledge this is not entirely true... Some Corvans came with fixed windows. There were even "display" Corvans with windows on the ...

Re: 1962 Corvan project
Great find!!... As far as I know, Corvans were available with windows but they usually were fixed and didn't roll up or down. From what I've experienced in the past from my own FCs is that the rear heat vent is blocked off with a removable plate if no rear heat was originally installed. The window ...

Re: Powerglide
if it has the trans cooler on it may have to be removed. If it is a true FC Powerglide transmission it will have the fittings for a cooler... with oil lines going to a cooler located in the battery compartment (may be hard to see behind the battery). I suppose the fittings could be plugged or ...

I don't even think one could call this "smokin'", but.....damn.....I like it! Tally up just the wheels and paint job! And let's not forget the "jump-in-and-drive-it" angle, not "two-years-of-disassembly-and-fixing-everything-under-the-sun". http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/2709354718.html ...
