Re: A Tale of Woe..

Well, just went out and tried some Starting Fluid which I had on hand from pre-rebuild carbs testing. Same result. Momentarily wants to catch, but, NO. Rules out fuel??

Re: A Tale of Woe..

okay. I'll give that try. Also, the fuel pressure gauge {inline} reads 5 psi on cranking. It is just before the T connector.

Re: A Tale of Woe..

Not likely there. I have new fuel tank, fresh fill of 93 and new filters. The activation of the linkage has fuel mist in both carbs, which appears even. The carbs which Mr. Meadows fixed were recently rebuilt but he notes they are not always correct for that alone. AND it was running perfect ...

Re: A Tale of Woe..

Thanks for that. AS to the "dwell" meter I can get one but WHAT exactly is hooked to, with engine not running, and HOW is that adjusted? I have an old timing light good there. Thanks!

A Tale of Woe..

Hello, all. Yes, it's me again. So, let me start with an UPDATE. After much angst in previous posts, I found the amazing and wonderful Eddie Meadows in Oviedo, Fla. It is about 2 1/2 hour drive. I rented a trailer and took Nellybelle for diagnosis. Fortunately, there were NO major mechanical issues ...

Re: The Big Sleep

when it stops raining, I'm going to pull the passenger side cover. The sound could have migrated or I was mistaken. If it is the same, what could that mean? WHAT, out of sight from rocker cover view, may still be at issue? I just want to report to the mechanic what I've found and make sure they don ...

Re: The Big Sleep

Okay, whew, so I pulled the driver's side cover. Almost wish there was something {simple}..... Rocker arms - tight, not bent nor cracked; Springs- appear intact, no cracks, looseness or breakage; pushrods - from what is visible, tips are in place, secure, no discernible looseness or odd shape or ...

Re: The Big Sleep

P.S. I did contact the EXVP of Corsa who recommended a guy over in Ovideo. Eddie did reply but he is essentially out of the repair business {Retiring}

Re: The Big Sleep

When I replaced the spark plugs and wires I did a compression test. All were 125 except #2 which was 115. However, I guess that doesn't mean a push rod tube isn't leaking but the clattering did seem to be coming from that side. After looking at the pictures you posted I'm wondering is there any ...

Re: The Big Sleep

Thanks bbodie . you're always on top of things!! I will pull the rocker covers and do an inspection. I really don't want it to sit until a rebuild, but, IF there is NO visible issues, I'll have to wait. Right now, I would NOT drive it again and that means I'll need a "roll back ride" to the shop I ...

The Big Sleep

Guess it's time for the '66 to go into hibernation. I've tried fixin all the "little" things and went on a test drive yesterday. First time, since getting it 8 months ago, just wanted to make sure I could drive it to mechanic appointment Monday, about 10 miles away. Little flooding, except above 35 ...

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Yes, its me again :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
So, replaced the voltage regulator and engine harness. Harness still gets hot in center. Disconnected Alternator and all is cool. The Alternator on here came with car so it's "correctness" I do not know. Wires going ...

Re: What Tool Fuel Pressure Adjust?

Thanks to all again. I have ordered a 12-804 for starts. Also some reducer fittings. I have PM'd azdave to see if he has any adjuster mods available. I wouldn't mind staying with the mech pump, a while, IF the pressure gauge shows good when I can start the car again {Tuesday after Volt reg and ...
