Oil Pans

Post by archerpilot27 »

Hey all, I know this topic has been discussed before, but I'm just looking for some updated clarification and guidance. I have a 64 110 4 speed Monza and I'm looking to change out the weepy original oil pan. The previous owner used used some bolt plates on the outside of the pan to help reduce bolt hole deformation, but it still has a very slow leak.

I'd like to go with either the Clark's "original" reproduction pan or pony up another Benjamin and Grant for the Otto pan.

-Does anyone have experience with the original pan (~$100)? Clark's says its 50% thicker to reduce bolt hole deformation.

-I've read of some mounting surface issues with the Otto pan awhile back. Are people still having this issue? Is the polished fin version maybe better? Does this pan need the spacer and extended pickup? Clark's recommends these items, but are they really needed for a car used solely for cruising?
