Had a few minutes to mess around with an old folder and I came up with this .

Mostly cars with trees growing out of them - several corvairs included .

Most everybody has a neglected car story...I'm no different.

I have lived in or near my current hometown for 53 years. In 1968 a gentleman I do not know parked a 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500 fastback along side SR45 in Ohio with a for sale sign on it. And it has sat in that same spot ever since. In the ensuing 47 years everyone has witnessed the slow, painful disintegration of this once fine looking automobile. The owner keeps the grass mowed and the weeds cut back from the car so no trees grow through it but it sags now because the frame is no doubt rusted away. The paint, a dusty rose color is faded and rusting away but the white top still shines brightly.

No one knows the story why this car didn't sell or why it still sits there. A local newspaper sent a reporter to the residence for a human interest story about the car and was told, in no uncertain terms, to leave. My guess is sometime in the past someone made him a ridiculously low offer and the owner was so insulted he said "I'll let it rust into the ground before I sell it to you". He was true to his word....but it's just conjecture.

Sad to see the fate what were once restorable classics.
