Lost key to my LM trunk. What is easiest way to open? Drill out lock or will that make it worse? :dontknow:

The trunk key is the same as the glove box key...take the glove box lock to a lock smith that makes keys...cheap, fast and no damage. They read the numbers on the gb lock and make you the key.

Trunk lock SHOULD be the same as glove box-however, it may have been changed sometime in the last 49 years. To be sure 1) remove headlight "bucket"
2) reach in and open trunk latch
3) take trunk lock cylinder to locksmith

After you pop out a headlight bucket you should have just enough arm length to reach inside and turn the small nub of the lock shaft that sticks out of the back of the latch mechanism. A small adjustable wrench will help you turn the shaft and a smart phone camera can help you see what you are doing. Hopefully your trunk is not loaded to the hilt with spare parts! You also might be able to turn the lock shaft between the lock and the latch mechanism if you can fit a wrench in there.

In the picture showing the trunk lock, the compartment is beautiful. Did also notice a different master cylinder.

What is that?
