I have a 65 Corsa Convert. I un hooked everything, including the ash tray and can't seem to find enough room to pull the old radio down.
Any suggestions?

I haven't removed a Late Model Corvair radio since about 1980, so I can't remember much detail. The only thing I can think of is removing the outer ashtray shell and possibly the defroster ducting. These diagrams may help...

When I removed the radio in my 65 I had to remove the defroster ducting.

Thanks - that's what's preventing it from coming out. Looks like fun getting those top screws out!

Not too hard to get those screws. Use 1/4 drive 1/4" socket and extensions as needed (assuming the screws are the original 1/4 head "tophat" type screws). A universal swivel might be helpful as well.
