Just found and started work on one of my dream cars

Post by jhiner1978 »

I found a solid 1962 Corvair Greenbrier Van. There is only 2-3 rust areas that you can't see that I will fix.

I was able to get her started using just some starter fluid, of course 20 years of smoke came out for a few seconds, but we were excited. we being my 9 year old girl who was the key turner

Needs new brakes and I will be taking the gas tank out and replacing the fuel lines, rebuilding the carbs. I want to get her mechanically sound before I start on the body.

Looks bad but its really just some surface rust. One small dent on the roof and a small amount of welding plus a lot of elbow grease and I think i'll be able to polish this tur.... beauty

I cant wait to see what she becomes

Compared to most I see, yours just needs a buff and wax...

Have fun with it. Congrats on having your daughter interested in it. I have a 17 yr old son and he grew up with my 3 muscle cars and a street rod around and had NO interest in them until he drove my '67 Camaro SS 350 to storage a few weeks ago. NOW he is interested in it... ::-):
