Very nice! I'd REALLY like to hear more about what it took to put the LM suspension in there.

There might be an article about this in the Communique that goes into some detail but basically it isn't all that tough. I got a '65 shell and made a jig that attached to the rear motor mount (or is it the front) by the back bumper. I also attached it to the two torque arm mounts at the front of the rear wheels. Then I cut the mounts away from the '65 and bolted them to the jig. Locating the mounts in the '64 was fairly easy because I had both cars on jack stands at the same height. I just measured up from the ground and centered the jig to locate the mounts, then I removed whatever was in the way and welded them in. Later I boxed and reinforced the whole mess to make sure it would stay put. I learned that the LM unit needs to be narrowed 1/2 inch on each side to fit the EM car properly and get the same track as the front. Also, the OD of the LM spring is too big so I used the ones from my '64 by fitting them into the LM perches. There is a bit more to it and I'd be happy to provide more detail if anyone is interested. Thanks for asking!
Ted

I would also be most interested in more in depth info on this "update". I am presently torn between getting another 65-66 turbo car or a 64 spyder. I lean towards the spyder (having had a new 64 spyder convert, when I was young and foolish - I'm not young anymore!!), but would be extremly interested in converting it to the LM suspension. This would seem to be a good item to establish as a "stickey" on the forum. ::-):

lonestranger - I finally finished the car and will post the final pics soon.
Actually all I did is change the mufflers - too noisy - and finish the interior. I sent you a private message with my contact info. If you didn't get it, post a message here and I'll try again. Thanks!

Sorry to take so long to get back, but life has sort of "got in the way", and I just got back to this line of thought. ::-): That being said, I apparently did not get your private message, so if you could try again, I would appreciate it. Incidentilally, my email is : traveler@raths.com I am still torn between the Spyder and a Corsa ( I need a bigger garage - what with my 66 monza coupe already in there!! Other than the 16 in IROC wheels, it looks almost stock, being the original turquoise outside and inside. However, it has a built counter-rotating 215 /NOS, in the stern. )
