If they made it in before tariff's took effect, this batch might be the last for awhile - hence the limit of one per per customer.

I posted this yesterday and it posted just fine.....A couple hours later it was gone....Poof...

It is nice to see that after all the waiting, that these pumps are finally available....THANK YOU Clark's for the effort.

I noted that there is currently a limit of one pump per customer which I can understand at the moment.
What confuses me is that the listing still offers a reduced price for purchasing two or more....

For what it is worth...
A couple years ago, I placed an order for four of the new pumps with the folks at the Corvair Ranch....
It will be interesting to see if I get a call or e-mail to let me know they are now available.

As much as I sincerely hope that these new pumps last a good long time while working well, in the event I do not get notified my pumps are ready for me to pick up, I am considering holding off before purchasing any for a while.

That is too bad, but the norm now with ANY delivery service AND the USPS. All you get is "we delivered it so YOU lost it!

I got tired of missing mail, packages, etc. and now pay for a box at one of the UPS stores as they hold packages if you have a box number rented. Three years now and NOT ONE MISSING ITEM. Only hassle is USPS who sends me nasty letters saying if I don't submit paperwork with a lot of personal information AND WITH A PASSPORT TYPE PHOTOGRAPH ATTACHED to prove who I am or the USPS will not deliver any packages. Total invasion of privacy so I refuse. Who needs the USPS. I do all my bills and important paper work online and only get items from commercial shippers.

Deliver packages to your house or to that store box?

I get packages from USPS to my mailbox, or house if too large for the mailbox at the street just fine. Same with checks for my key making/ lock fixing business, notices of license renewals (auto, business, taxes due, etc etc) ,etc. If there is NO mail in my box it is an unusual day! I have no issues with USPS.

Interesting. Based on the photos, the “stem” and the base appear to be separate pieces. Maybe that is just this lighting.

A guy brought one to the Corvair meeting last night in the plastic bag. For folks with more packaging is there any information on country of origin?

Here's my two cents, some photos and a how-to on voiding the warranty.

The pump looks to be of far better quality than the China pumps and all pieces fit well with no alignment issues. One person here mentioned that the pump base appears to be from two parts but it is one casting. Where the machined and non-machined surfaces touch looks like two halves were joined but that is not the case.

I have to be a little concerned about the check valves not being staked in place but I'm sure Clarks knows about past issues with check valves popping loose on other brands and assume they would be confident in this new design. The rubber flap disks used on the check valves does not thrill me but they sure seal perfectly, holding either pressure of vacuum for a long time during dry bench tests. I much prefer the hard phenolic discs for long-term reliability.

The 1/8" NPT port threads are clean and not threaded too deeply. The base rubber gasket and center diagram discs are supple and fiber-reinforced as they must be to survive. I have not measured the spring force or coil spring diameter yet but the height is about 1/8" less than most other pump springs I have around. I'll be testing the actual pump pressure under running conditions later today. I'll test both initial cold and hot running pressures.

Fuel here is E10 but it will of course take time to see how the rubber holds up to hot fuel after many months. I'm debating running this on a car or on a test rig. I can run the pump 24/7 at about 1700 RPM on my test rig for weeks at a time which would equal years of use on my Corvairs.

All signs so far are that this will be a good pump and far better than the junk being sold the last few years (which all originate from a single source in China under 4-5 various rebranded names).

I like e-pumps but mechanical pumps have a few places in my fleet too.
