Just a note to all about the standard boxes' internals. (excluding telescopic boxes from this discussion, as I have no knowledge and its info does not apply to ad).

All Corvair car standard steering boxes components from 64 - 69 are the same, except for the input shaft (shaft connected to steering column). Length of the input shaft determines what vehicle a specific box fits in.

1960 - 63 used same internal parts as 1967 - 69, but 1960 - 63 housing is made from aluminum.

Updated info in 1st post, 1st paragraph. Looked over the units again to determine what had new bushings and races.

I also have miscellaneous parts from boxes that were scrapped, covers, arm, balls, hardware, etc, that I will sell.

Gearboxes #1 & #2 sold and shipped.

Just one 1967 - 1969 steering gearbox with 2" input shaft remaining.

Gearbox will require 2 shaft seals (C6858 & C6859). Also a gasket (C6857). Calif Corvairs Kit CC06230M. I have one gasket and will put it in the shipping box, when gearbox is sold.

Since I assembled and lubricated the balls, worm nut, input shaft, ball guide units with clamp & screws on the 15" shaft box, I am assembling this area of parts on each box. That is the most frustrating part of the assembly, for anyone doing it for the first time.
