Wagon Drip Rail Trim Installation?

I'm seeking help on how to install drip rail trim on my wagon, which I removed it to paint the car. It pops over the metal drip rail welded to the wagon, but I'm not sure the best way to get it started.

In order to properly position the trim, I'm sure I need to start where it curves down on the D-pillar. What I'm not sure of is do I pop it over the D-pillar drip rail and work up to the curve, or start at the curve and go both directions from there. Has anyone done this that can tell me the best way? The picture here shows the trim hanging on the drip rail but not popped on.
