Hi there - new owner and member - have read many posts re this subject, but still confused....headed to AZ MVD Monday for title & registration, so any help would be greatly appreciated.....we thought we bought a '61, but everything is telling us it might be a '62, but we have no idea what model it is other than a 2dr...
Thanks much for any help you can provide....

The V.I.N. tag on the door jamb appears to be correctly spot welded and is likely original.
The Trim tag in the engine compartment also appears to be original and not tampered with.

Both indicate a 927 code which would be correct for a 1962 Monza 2dr sedan which appears correct for your car.

I seem to recall prior discussions suggesting that some States would have their own ideas and ways of registering New vehicles. IF for example, a 1962 model year vehicle was actually manufactured in 1961 and registered in 1961, it got titled as a 1961 even though it was sold as a 1962 model year by the manufacturer.
IF the V.I.N. on the title matches the V.I.N. on the vehicle, I doubt there would be any issues processing it.

There is a chance that the Motor Vehicle Administration might recognize that a 1962 vehicle was incorrectly originally titled as a 1961 model and correct it without further questions OR, they might want you to go through a number of ridiculous and unnecessary steps to get the vehicle titled....It could be easy or difficult depending on their point of view.

I have an old registration card for the 1962 Corvair Monza Station Wagon my parents bought new.
Back then here in Maryland for some unknown reason it was registered as a "Suburban" rather than a Station Wagon which now makes no sense at all.

Both tags look to indicate a 62 model.

I have a 1962 station wagon with a paint code 963-3, however I cannot find this color in 1962 or on a Corvair? In 1963 it was available on a Nova labeled Azure Aqua? Can anyone please help me to decode this?
Thank You

963 is a two tone color for 1962 Chevrolet.

Here is PPGs answer, and they are usually correct. :tu:

Anyone wanting color information on Corvairs, check autocolor library first. ::-):

Hi There! I have a 1964 Corvair Convertible Automatic. I am new here and have been trying to decode

my vin and body tag. Should part of my Vin match my sequence number on my body tag? Sorry, I know this has been covered, I’m confused.

I think I figured it out. Vin is number off production line and body tag number is the sequence number of convertible body made.

What at MVA has ever made sense????? All you need to be employed there is a semi functioning brain cell (note SINGULAR)! No brain is required for management positions. "Work?!?!?!! What's that?"
