1965 Corsa Bodywork Thread
Continued from the defunct corvaircenter. I accept that it is beyond repair and am moving on...

I was able to see the new paint in person this morning and am very pleased. Today he will paint the top sides of the hood and engine lid which are the last part to be done. He's going to give it a light cut with 2500 grit wet sanding and polish it out. And of course it still needs its silver cove treatment! Ken

Thanks everyone! Cody, thanks for sending the spray out of your nason regal red sample. My painter talked me into another option, also single stage urethane, which I am blanking on right now. I’m pretty sure it is a shade lighter than what you sprayed but haven’t compared side by side. Ken

I picked the car up from the body shop today and am very happy with it! The weather was even nice enough to drive it home, which was an unexpected treat for Rochester, NY in February... Some assembly still required!!

I've made some progress reassembling the car, which has been pretty slow since I'm cleaning up parts as I go. The license plate is an original NY Worlds Fair 64 plate that I found on ebay. Next up is the door glass. Ken

The Nason sprayout Cody sent you was also painted in single stage urethane. It came out great and after wet-sand, buffed to a perfect gloss.
Your care looks great!

Fantastic job.....and I was at that World's Fair with my parents, all the way from Nor Cal. I was five! I remember we could see the big globe from our Great Aunt's front porch. Thanks for the memories this morning.

Such a beautiful car, painted in "Arrest Me Red"!
Of course, "Come and Get Me Copper" is nice too.
