Chevrolet for 1960 Perfection - Plus

Post by Storm »

So the is from September of 1959 & is from a dealer training kit with more brochures, quick reference guides, film, records & model specific details. Figured I share the pages about the 1960 Corvair.

For those of you that look through the pictures, let me know if you notice anything odd or out of place. That's the hint. If no one notices I'll post it!

Might try to film the film & upload to youtube! Depends on quality!

Enjoy!

Development time is much longer than I’ve seen references to in the past.

Also, did the 60 Corvairs have a separate Brake Release control. Any I’ve seen have been pistol grip release like my 66.

The T handle release, your spot on! Also I think the gas tank was smaller on 60's too. (11gal)

As for development time, I've seen different ones in different references, this says 9 & it is in the questions that one of the books asks. Examples would be.....

What's the optional folding seat down The luggage space behind the rear seat increases to how many cubic feet?
ANS. 17.6 cubic feet

Coil springs, as in quadri-flex suspension, provide constant ride control. Name two other advantages of coil springs.
ANS. (1) Requires no lubrication and (2) cannot squeak.

The standard synchro-mesh clutch engages smoothly to transfer power of what material are the clutch disc facings?
ANS. Asbestos

The trim line styling of the Corvair is the classic climax that how many years of research, testing and development?
ANS. 9.

Here's two about the T-handle

To warn visually that the brakes are on, how many inches does the "T-handle" parking brake release extend out?
ANS. 2 inches.

What was the driver do to release the parking brakes?
ANS. Pull out the "T-handle" another 3/4 inch.

I don't know about you guys but I absolutely love this kind of stuff, quite interesting to look at all the old Chevrolet selling tricks and films!
