Instrument panel removal
Instrument panel removal
I have a 1966 Corvair with Auto. Transmission, do I need to remove the transmission bezel to remove the instrument panel? Thanks Jerry

Re: Instrument panel removal
No, you do not have to removed the bezel. On the drawing of the selector in the circle above, you only have to remove nut (#4) and e-clip (#1). The nut is ⅝" and is a little tough to get to but I just did it yesterday. The clip is easier to remove if you put it in Low so it is easier to see. It is very small and easy to lose.
To install just put the cable through the hole while you put the nut over the end. Tighten the nut and then put the cable end over the stud and replace the e-clip.
