65 I bought 3 years ago. My first Corvair. Driven regularly, not a show car.

I've got a 62 vert that had a 64 Spyder club coupe donor car. Engine and running gear along with suspension are from that 64 Spyder. New top and interior. Car is currently a work in progress, but was definitely a great find at what I would say is about 95% complete.

I enjoyed the little finishing touches that can be discovered while exploring this Corvair!

Thank you everyone...I appreciate the comments. The backstory on this car is interesting. It was a personal project of a gentleman who lived on a Christmas tree farm in Sommerset, CA. It was to be his and his wifes car. He began the work (based on receipts and DMV documents) presumably in the 90's. Using money generated from tree sales during the holiday months he would do a little bit of work at a time until he eventually got sick and passed away in 2012. His widow mothballed the car in an enclosed barn/industrial type garage on their property where it sat for the last six and a half years. I found an ad advertising an estate sale and looked at the pics provided. The car looked to be in great shape but needed finishing in addition to a good amount of TLC. After about of month of phone calls and emails/text messages (I live about 4 hours away from where the car was) I was able to make the trip to see the car in person. Long story short, I loaded it on a flatbed and had it towed home. What you are seeing now is the car after getting a good handful of thing taken care of since bringing it home in September of 2018. Oh...one last thing...the car came with a box of parts and odd and ends. This 7 billiard ball was something she had said her husband had intended to tap and use as a shift knob. I thought it was a fitting nod to her late husband that I put it on.

I'm sure he can see that billiard ball shift knob from his vantage point!

Again....thanks for the encouraging words. Initially when I was considering this car, I was unsure and a bit nervous about taking on the task of completing what someone else started. I now feel like I got this handled so long as I take it one step at a time. I attached a few more pictures of when I initially got it out of that storage all dirty, missing bumpers, barely running with frozen brakes and had it loaded up to tow back for that four hour drive home
