I will make it to the Anniversary meet for sure. Still working on the 'vair as time permits so probably 'vairless again, but I will see you there anyway for a while.

Joe'd and I may be there if he's up for it running wise, and if we are welcome (not members of the club yet).

Any Corvair or Corvair-powered vehicle is welcome at the show. You don't have to belong to CORSA or the local club. Entry fee requested is a non-perishable food item that we then donate to a local charity.

Just a reminder that the All Corvair show is still scheduled for tomorrow morning at Thorobred Chevrolet in Chandler. In my opinion the best time to be there is between 10-12 if you want to see the most cars although the show is between 9-2. A few people from Tucson are coming up too.

Unfortunately I have been having a bad time with my kidney stones (9 at last count). I will be at the show but maybe without the V8. I'll have to see how I feel. My mornings are good but by afternoon I'm taking it easy or in bed.

FYI Sorry for the short notice but there's a charity car show next Saturday being held in Phoenix at Firebird Lake. This is also the home of the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving and they are helping sponsor the event. Entry fee is a non-persiable food item. I have no idea what to expect for this event but I figure I'll go represent and see how it goes. I haven't been to a show in quite a few months.

Cactus Corvair Club should have several cars in attendance. I'll be there with my V8 around 9 AM. Show goes until 4 but I have to head out by 3 PM.

More info on Corvair club pages.

Sorry...I've been so busy getting ready for this event that I forgot to post it here for the non- Corvair club members in the Phoenix area.

Tomorrow is the date for the last regular Cactus Corvair Club meeting until after summer.

The meeting will be at my house in combination with a pitch-in cookout and a Tech Session on how to rebuild Rochester HV carbs (presented by John Seaman).

Meeting starts at noon witn a short video presentation too.
Food starts around 1 PM
Tech Session should start around 2-2:30 when we are done eating.
Pool is open so bring a swim suit and towel if you want to cool off.

Here is more info with a map.

You don't have to be a club member to attend but we do ask that you bring a covered dish if you attend the BBQ. The club is providing burgers and dogs.

16 people attended including 64CorvairEd (but not driving his Vair just yet). I hope all that got to attend had plenty to eat and learned something new about rebuilding carbs!

It was a good day for me. I mentioned my 64 coupe was for sale and a few moments later I had a $200 deposit in my hand. Cool!

Pics of the event.

I live in Yuma but my dad and I are getting into corvairs and lives in phoenix. Out of curiosity, did you mid-engine guys do the work yourselves or is there a shop in Phoenix that can handle such work the right way? Hope to make it out to an event sometime though I think it will be awhile until our Corvair is ready. Thanks!

I don't know of a shop doing anything like that but I'm sure if you have the funds you can find a builder.

Is that your midnight blue Corvair with the big block v8 on craigslist azdave? If so, that car looks amazing.

I wish! My drivable V8 is not that nice. My other Toro V8 is rootbeer colored and currently half dismantled awaiting a rebirth.

I don't know who owns that one but would like to see it in person. Unfortunately, I doubt it will ever sell for near that amount. I like the mecanical work that was done but I would have to change how the front end looks. It strays too far from the Corvair styling for me.
