I'm wondering if anyone has used one of these set ups from Corvair Specialities. You can't grab the image so here's the link

You have to use your stock fan and the one in the picture is not included . I"m not sure of his claims of the stock fan pulling 25 hp and the kit requires upgrading to a 75 amp alternator . TIA

Discussed often on both forums. I would never bother with it.

Here's one thread. You can Google for many more threads.

I and a few others tried to buy the kit from him, I wanted one just to test it, He would not respond or sell the kit to anyone I know. :dontknow:

Thanks for those replies . I tried a number of searches and for some reason got nothing hence my post . He did answer my emails and told me it's 1/5 hp 3200 rpm italian made electric motor . I read over the posts on the link AZDave sent and someone mentioned that probably a 1 hp motor minimum would be required so who knows ? Oh well there are always other things to do on the car. Sorry to beat an already well beaten topic!

That's okay. We're discussing the 5-speed Corvair transmission again in another thread. ::-): ::-): ::-):
