On a 140, which linkage should I use: '65 or '66?

I've got an 140 engine and a choice. Which throttle linkage is better, the '65 or '66 version, and why?

Now that I fixed what the PO did, my choke lock out works just fine. If I can just get up north and get the little car out this summer.
