who's got the biggest Rotors?

Post by bruce.s »

Who's got the largest rotors on their Vair?
I know most of the vendors front disc brackets allow for 10.5" rotors on a late model. Does anyone know of a bracket that will allow for something bigger?
Since we're on topic, who are all of the vendors that sell the conversion brackets?
I know of Scarebird, California Corvairs, Stinger Motorsports, LeVair, Clarks, and Corvair Underground. Do any of these work with something bigger that the 10.5"?
I currently have 15" billet Centerline wheels. But, at some point in the future I will upsize to a 17". I don't want the rotors to look too small behind the larger wheels.
anybody got a good pic of the 10.5" rotor behind a 17" wheel?

Cheers

Hi Bruce, At the moment I am running 13" brakes with 17" wheels. I will try to find or take some pictures if you like. Brakes are baer racing 67 camaro setup from a long time ago 10+ years. Not sure they still make the exact kit. Rotors should work off any 67 camaro aftermarket kit. I did run the disc brake hubs from baer. Had to modify the caliper bracket for offset and mounting to the smaller spindle. it was very simple and about an hour job.

I can post pictures of the whole swap if I can find the pictures still.

Good Luck,
Darrin
