Such a shame to hear, you've been doing an amazing job on it!

You've been working this issue actively since Jul 30, 2011 in this thread, and frankly demonstrated a huge amount of determination and perseverance. I wish your initial purchase from Pennsylvania hadn't turned out so badly for you. You worked long and hard to try to make it right, but I guess the years have taken their toll and it was time to "throw in the towel".

Do you plan on keeping track of the Corvair effort by the restoration shop to see how they do? :dontknow:

I have also sold my beloved Mercedes, but plan to keep the Hornet for now....unless I can persuade a friend to part with his 552 big block Ford powered Rover P4

Perhaps making such a move would not be the best choice for you right now????
Petrol in the UK is 39% more expensive than the average worldwide price, with the UK ranked the 19th most expensive country in the world to top up your tank.

It seems the resto company didn't get anywhere with it as it is on ebay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115073262233 ... SwSUdhftct
What is the story with the missing seats ? Any idea if there are any in the UK. I have been after a Corvair for ages but keep getting distracted by other cars. Everytime I search in the US for a Corvair project I end up buying something else. A Corvette last year and I have just bought a '53 Buick Special Riviera.

I imagine it was too much for them to take on...the seats were miss matched when I got it, I took the covers off then binned them , I intended to fit more modern ones, if you buy it , I have aq nice set of revolution wheels to go with it...£600
