pensylvania bondo bucket
Re: pensylvania bondo bucket
I hope I dont make a mess of it
Re: pensylvania bondo bucket
Mart, I have followed your thread from the time you first posted on my thread, some years ago now, like so many others. Your metal work and "can do" attitude is above and beyond 90% that read any auto forums. My convertible is finally finished, after 6 years. Yours is almost there too. And with its new coat of paint, which I am waiting for with much anticipation, you can no longer call it a "bondo bucket", cause you've removed all the PO's bad work!

Re: pensylvania bondo bucket
way too much dirt flying around inside garage, despite my efforts to keep it out.....this is my second attempt ...might try to repaint clearcoat outside....had decent results before....why does this thing have to fight me at every turn?

Re: pensylvania bondo bucket
just did the rear end outside to test the water, much less dirt in paint, but showed up a few flaws which might be hard to put right at this stage...far from perfect but might live with them

Mart,
You mentioned that there was too much dirt flying around in the garage.
Many many years ago my dad showed me some tricks to painting cars in a regular garage. He would first blow down everything from the ceiling then sweep, then do it again and then hose down the floor and squeegee it. Hang plastic along the walls. Wet the floor again then roll the car in. Wipe down the car and prep it. We got the best results from that even though we didn't have a professional spray booth.

Love the pBB logo! Although no more bondo here.
Re: pensylvania bondo bucket
getting there...still a little dirt, might flat and give one more coat of clear later....happy with the copper and orange pearl
Re: pensylvania bondo bucket
I like your spray test pattern on the door. My dad's garage had a lot of those.
