Well, both of them were a BUST....

The White one has fuzzy pictures for a reason. My wife referred to it as a "Rattle trap" (identified the sound as the coat hanger holding the muffler up) , every single element of the vehicle was damaged in some way. From the smallest knob to the headliner. The red rag tied to the shifter shaft in front of the tranny to "stop the leaks" was the final straw...

The Red one was interesting, solid restorable body, but missing a lot of the shrouding around the engine, took LOTS of starting fluid to get it to fire up, idled at 1100 at the lowest, smoked from the left pipe and the right wheel well....and the seller would not let me test drive it until I had paid for it and signed all the paperwork to make it mine.. I explained that at that point it is not a "test drive" but a drive.... he smiles and nodded. I left.

However, I WAS able to find a Corvair to buy!!!! I now have this 65 Corsa (that looks suspiciously like a 66) which was converted to a PG Automatic

The bendix on the starter is failing but it still starts and it will not idle long because one of the driver side carbs has a stuck float (or some other reason that it is just DUMPING fuel into the head) I have the 4 carbs off of my Field Find 65 Corsa and am rebuilding two tonight. This should let me get the car running enough to get me home.

The DMV was a joy.... It is an expired reg out of state car. always a challenge. I now have a moving permit for one day (of my choice) so I can drive it to the DMV for VIN verification. THEN they will put it in my name and give me Cal plates and stickers. Sigh.

Looks good Steve. Since you are staying LM, similar parts will be a bonus :tu:

Thanks! Yeah, I am rebuilding two of my carbs now to get the new one home....

Anyone have a spare secondary carb for sale?
