If the 1965 500 had a P/G, it had back-up lights. Certainly lots in interesting parts!

The speaker grilles look like they could be for the doors on a multi-plex stereo or 8 track car. A tape measure next to the grille might help with that. The license lense would not be '61 thru '9 as some of the earlies did not have a lense. Didn't Bill just do a license light article for the stock Corvair group? For the exhaust donuts there would be 5 sizes. The 4 already mentioned and the '64-'66 turbo outlet. I think that it is 2 1/2".

This is only the stuff that doesn't have enough information (literally) tied to it to be inventoried properly. The spreadsheet should be more interesting.

That lic plate lens would fit my 63 Vert. I just had mine out and it was cracked (C.A. glued it back) so I did look hard at mine and this one is a match. Same as the temp gauge.

I'm not familiar with either option. Did the Corvair come factory with either an 8 track or a multi-plex stereo?

Yes, Rex is right, there are some earlies that never used a license lens. But if the car had a license lens, the one you found will fit Just not those gaskets.

Measurements are inside diameter, taken with the digital caliper, so are approximate. I hope this helps. Note the 140 exhaust stack doughnuts are close to the diameter of the "other engines" crossover to manifold doughnuts, but there is a thickness difference. The exhaust stack doughnuts are thin and the crossover ones are thick. No difference "other engines" to 140 in thickness. However, there are differences in thickness between the "pressed oatmeal", graphite, asbestos and the gray types. They all work.

27) Seals / Boots / Grommets? - I was thinking accelerator pump seals, but these are extremely pliable. Not leather. Bottom line is that I don't know.
28) Steering Arms - I got to looking at this, and the second thought that came to mind was "They went to the trouble of plating these things and of printing these neat instructions, but couldn't put a part number on any of it?"
Maybe these are quick steering arms. BUT MAYBE THEY'RE NOT! It's late and I am growing incoherent.
29) Steel Carb Spacers? - These look like some of the plastic carb spacers I've encountered. More specifically, the thick ones. Difference being that these are made of steel, and number (3). Why?
30) Mystery Hose - Flexible plastic w/steel spiral reinforcement. 3-1/8" OD. Not sure of its function, but it looks to be in really good condition. What is it?

This is where I'll have to call it a night. Drawer 5 has gone pretty smoothly so far. Not many mysteries in the first three bays. Looks as though the last two might be slightly more interesting. Will try to pick it up again this weekend. Thanks to all. I will leave you with this.

The only thing I am partially sure of is the OTTO Parts oil pump pickup, pretty sure they made 2, one for their oil pan without the "parabolic spacer" and one with it. Part # is OP128, might be in Clarks OTTO catalog, will definitely be in an old OTTO catalog.

31) Locking Gas Cap - Meant to post this up several entries up. Fell between the cracks in this process. Which Corvair was this design meant for?
32) Gaskets - These appear to be leftovers from many years ago that he couldn't bring himself to toss out. What are their applications? Are the larger gaskets still useful with their corners half knocked off? These look like oil filter adapter housing gaskets, but completely flat.
33) Wellnuts? - In one of the small parts envelopes, I found a bunch of these. Rubber, but cast over a threaded insert. The word "wellnut" is cast into one end. What is the application?
34) Mount - Used, but in the parts cabinet. What is the application for this thing? Why save a used one?
35) Washer / Spacer - Made of metal. Inner diameter is beveled. Carburetor cover screw included for size reference.
36) Plastic Acorn Nut - Can't recall having seen one in any of the cars before.
37) Bushings - Two types. I'd say sway bar, but they're not split like many of the others.
38) Spark Plug Boot Retainer Clips? - I thought I recalled seeing something like these pop up a few days ago while looking for diagrams of the 1960 air cleaner top shroud, but if the number on this bag is a Clark's number, it doesn't match these things.
39) Weather Strip - No part number visible. What would the application be?
40) Spring - Throttle return?
41) Tube - It's an anatomy lesson, this thread. There are jokes to be made, but I really don't know the answers.
42) Seat Bumpers - C92 over at Clark's. Discontinued. Their catalog page indicates different designs were used for different years. Wondering whether you recognize which these belong to.
43) Boot - Shifter? No part number visible. Seconds condition at best.
44) Unknown - Looks like a tire valve stem cap, but doesn't have any receiving threads.
45) Oil Filter - Is there anything special about this? It's the only one I've found of this design so far.
46) Dennis A. Gray - Is he a member of this forum? I have some things to ask you about.

Yo, dude, sounds like you stumbled upon some interesting stuff in the garage! If you're missing a breather tube for the Desert Air Package, check around for other missing components that might be related. Maybe do a quick inventory to see what's not showing up and make a list of what you need to complete the setup. Good luck with the rest of your garage exploration!

Item #33 appear to be use to mount Voltage Regulators in the engine compartment.

Item #34 appears to be a rear motor mount for the F.C. vehicles.
Some of those pieces may be unavailable new or repro.
They may have been saved because they could be difficult to source.

The Round Gasket looks like it could be for an early 3 speed transmission but I am not sure about this.

Those gaskets could also could be for the car in the garage and not for a Corvair.

Item #36 I seem to recall seeing nuts like those securing the lower rear cove trim to the body but can't find a Clark's #
There is a chance that Used is all that is available anymore.

Item #37 are Stabilizer Bar Bushings ( One full set for 1964-1969 should look like the below item)

Item #40 appears to be as you suspected, a Throttle Return Spring.

Item #42 appears to be a reproduction bumper for the front seats. They install on the bottom part of the seat on the rear outer corners.

Item #43 appears to be an accelerator rod boot that is inside the engine compartment. Reproduction boots do not have the metal retainer built into the rubber. IF it is in good shape, it is preferred over the reproduction one.
Unfortunately these old parts often do not stand up to daily use and quickly deteriorate.

Item #44 appears to be a Trip Mileage Reset Cable Knob for the 1965-1966 CORSA Dash.

Item #45 is a standard Corvair Oil Filter. They were produced in different colors over the years and usually the only folks that seek these out are those who enter their Corvair in a concours where the filter could be a tie breaker. These folks would also want a perfect appearance for the filter.

#31 Not to be cute, but try it on an early, a late and an FC (I know there is a Rampside there :wink). That is my go to when I find a gas cap and I want to see which model it fits.

#33, what size threads, could be roof rack.....wait..... it says 1024 (#10, 24 threads per inch) right on it, so Andria wins, voltage regulator well nuts.

#34, 1960 or FC rear motor mount. yep.

#35 Cam thrust washer?????? Just a wild guess.

#36 also found on screw ends sticking into trunk to protect you from scratches from the sharp points.

#37 Yep sway bar, not split on Corvairs. Originally there were different IDs on the 62-63, 64, and 65-69 sway bars.

#44 Spyder and Corsa trip reset knob, usually missing.

#45 white filters were all the rage 20 years ago, as concourse people wanted them. Now you can decal/sleeve a Clark's or Wix filter and get the look. So, still a good oil filter.
