Got some trubble in my workshop
and as i live in a apartment, i need to deal with other people to fix the problem, but that take long because they dont see the problem. (ofcourse they dont have the problem, water is going down, it starts by them and comes down to me, hahahaha

So for now no more new updates, before that is fixed, good time to read through the forum hahaha and look back at the convention pictures

finaly no more water in my little workshop, damage is solved, and i re organised the workshop, i can work again
removed the old isolation from the roof, and put a basecoat paint on it
and did another layer of protection paint on the tank
soon more!

Yes still some progress here,
Engine case is clean,
cilinders are cleaned from the inside (no overbore)
the pistons, just clean them, need some more work, but they look good, after some more cleaning, thay can go back in
Cleaned my head, eeeeh the heads, outside almost done, inside need some more cleaning, but looks good
Ready for some bodyseal
After some sealer, we put on a basecoat

This may be the most loved and well cared-for Corvair Lakewood in history! It seems that every nook and cranny has been thoroughly investigated, lovingly repaired, and improved upon wherever possible. It is great that you are documenting each step with numerous photographs, because once the car is done much of this great work will be hidden from view.
Your diligence, desire for a high degree of quality and desire for perfection sets a high bar for the rest of us. Keep up the good work!

Those are Clarks modern full fin cylinders. Did you know the engine had been rebuilt before you got it?

Thanks a lot for the replies whooho, glad most of you like the work, keeps me going, it goes slow, but better slow than still
@ TexasUK: no i didn't know that, but i looked it up and yes you're right damm,
i didn't know anything about the engine before i took it apart, there are different things done to it, other heads (102HP) and some othher things, but this i never noticed, thanks for giving me the information
This week more lakewood time hihi

TexasUK. For my future reference, what did you see that told you those were Clark's full fin replacement cylinders and not 1960 stock units?

Having trouble finding an image of a '60 cylinder but they also had full fins. Just trying to avoid any issues when ordering parts. Is that a shadow towards the top of the cyl. wall or the remnants of a ridge that was honed over?

Is a 1960 Cylindar a little bit smaller i think??, because of the engine size 2.3 and a 1961 engine is 2.4 , maybe i can find a parts number in the cylindars or something.
yes there was a small line with engine cooked grease on the edge, we honed that away, and slightly grooved the wall, should still work with standard sice piston rings (i hope, need to measure them again hahaha)

Don't want to be a pain, I'm just trying to make sure you don't have an aw s_ _ _ moment with mismatched parts. You are correct the '60 model had a 3.375 bore while '61-'63 was 3.437. A difference of .062. The '60 also had the unique full finned cylinders I spoke of.
You really need to measure your pistons and cylinders again.

Read the part under stock size about the modifications Clark's made. ALL of their cylinders have the notch on the bottom, to work with the early and the later long stroke crank. The full fin jugs in the picture have no notch.
