Thanks for the info!

Car update! just installed new headlights, heres the how to thread
viewtopic.php?f=225&t=12338

So my clutch feels great but i messed up on the adjustment of the master cylinder and it was under constant hydraulic pressure so my slave cylinder has started to leak. Ordering a new one tonight, then I'll put together a thread on how to convert to hydraulic clutch!

Well still haven't taken the time to order my new slave cylinder in. Been busy at work and just keep working on what i already have. I'll probably order it this weekend and install it next week. But I did get in some goodies from clarks, picked up a new steering wheel and the o-rings for my push rod tubes. just going to go ahead and lower the back of the engine to work on it all. Also started fiberglassing the speaker shell. lots to do, not enough time or enthusiasm haha.

I'll also be moving back to Utah at the end of January so I'm trying to figure out the best/most cost effective way to get the corvair back. Part of me wants to just drive it back home when I go to visit my parents for christmas and leave it with them then. don't know if she's up for an 800 mile drive though. may just end up renting a trailer with my uhaul and towing it back. We'll see.

Well I decided to go ahead and make the trek back from CA to UT and man did I pick a bad time to do it. trip started out well, until the old mechanical fuel pump rattled loose and shot out spraying oil all over the place. luckily it didn't fall out of the engine compartment though. I brought a lot of extra parts but not one of the old fuel pumps as I've switched to electric. because the compartment was full of oil I ended up throwing a fan belt about another 20 miles down the road (brought 4 extras) replaced that and it ran great for another 400 miles.

Then it started getting very very cold. I mean my feet where just absolutely frozen, luckily I brought my snowboarding gear with me to head up to the slopes with my family, but even with all of that on my feet where dying. was about right at 0* outside and was supposed to drop to -10 so I decided to go ahead and stop at a motel in carlin, 300 more miles and I'm done for a while. Heater works but the weatherstripping is all shot so too much cold air coming in, specifically the kick panel vents.

All in all, even being frozen it's been a good adventure, this is the longest I've ever driven a corvair in one trip. Glad its surviving better than I am. :)

Came out of an 07 monte carlo. Ls4, so not a powerhouse but it’ll be enough for now.

Moving right along. Picking wheel and tire size. May be crazy but im almost thinking 12’s in the rear and 9’s up front. Going to be cutting out and flairing the fenders anyway so go big or go home? Hah.
