I've seen this a few times over the years - Ted's correct - toss the dimmer switch. The "pigtail" is a term for the connector with short wires installed with connectors.
When the old connector is melted it won't hold the contacts correctly, not to mention the crimped connections are corroded. So it's trash.
Get the pigtail from Clark's if you can't find it at the auto parts store, once common, but cars haven't used a floor dimmer in decades.
DO mark the wires so you know how to splice them to the new "pigtail" connector. Use crimp connectors or solder the wires.
