66 corvair electric top motor
does anybody know where I can purchase a electric motor for my 66 conv, it has the electric top not the hydraulic one
Re: 66 corvair electric top motor
Clark's should carry that part. Are you sure you need a new motor? You could have a relay or switch problem.

Re: 66 corvair electric top motor
The motor was laying loose in the car when I purchased it, I tried to hot wire it from a battery and couldn't get it to run

Re: 66 corvair electric top motor
The late model corvair convertibles use a drive cable system. The motor and transmission are the same as GM A-bodies such as chevelle, GTO, cutlass& skylark. Typically you can get the motor and transmission together and separately. Be sure to remove the drive cables and test for binding with a drill motor.
