southern Ohio Corvair owner
southern Ohio Corvair owner
New owner and new to this forum. I have a 65 Monza convertible. I have looked in, under and over the car and cannot find a VIN plate. Haven't found a body tag either. Not by the doors, not by the battery, not around the engine, not in the trunk, not on or under the dash. Suggestions?

Inside the engine compartment, just in front of the rear body panel on passenger side, near the area where the tail light wires run should be a plate with numbers and letters. Standing at the rear, cover open with your knees near the license plate, the plat should be under your right hand.
There should be another plate with various numbers on the ledge near the battery. If these plates are missing, could be a legal issue.
Might just be painted over and are difficult to see.
