So what took the neighbors so long to take action? It seems to me that someone got their undies in a bundle with this guy and went to the county. If you look at his property on Google maps you will see that there are not that many neighbors. So I wonder who signed all these complaints. He is not in the town but in a small rural area that was probably a family farm that got sold off a portion at a time and homes built around it. The picture that the news posted was from a long time ago. The trees are small and there were many more cars back then. Google maps show many more trees and larger. You cannot see that many from the street and the current aerial view shows less cars than before. Everyone reading this should post a comment to the news media's web post in defence of this corvair lover.

This really sucks. Mike is just the most wonderful, helpful person and is also a crack Corvair mechanic. I have known him for over 20 years. He is responsible for keeping more Corvairs on the road than anyone I know. Anyone who knows him will be concerned that this has happened.
Corvair guy since 1982. I have personally restored at least 20 Vairs, many of them restored ground up.
Currently working full time repairing Corvairs and restoring old cars.

My understanding is a county official called it in, not a neighbor. And that petition was signed the same way as most are, by over-hyping the situation. Mike has many people willing to help relocate cars if necessary but he is still waiting on a decision by the courts, which should come in July.

He might be able to utilize the historic cars argument?

Hey all, sorry to bring this topic up again but this guy (Mike) is having a really tough time with this bad publicity from that reporter. I am not sure to what extent we could go to help him but I think the minimum would be to post blogs on these news paper websites under the article that was written on him. We are fortunate these days to have access to these sites and be able to speak out like we have not been able to, to such extent. Mike did not intentionally try and wrong someone but somebody got a bug up their butt and now wants to punish him. Let's try and show him some unity and at least make a small difference if possible.

So has anybody heard anything about Mike's situation lately? Just curious. Hope things are going better for him.
