I am new to Corsairs. I now have a 1965 Monza.
I was checking the wiring to and my temperature and oil pressure sending units themselves (light coming on) and discovered this other sender (red arrow in attached picture) tied in as well.
Can someone please tell me what it might be? Is it another temp sender? I have heard of thermistors on other engine types but this does;t appear to look like the thermistors I have seen.
I was only expecting the one pressure sensor on the top of the engine and one temp sender on the right head (green arrow).
Thank you

Re: New to forum - Sensor identification help
So from what I have found, it looks like this could be a 1960 temp switch? Obviously would mean not an original engine but that wouldn't surprise me any!
Re: New to forum - Sensor identification help
the red arrow -> oil temp.
green arrow -> oil pressure.
thats a 1960 only location for both.
after that the oil temp wasnt used & the oil pressure was moved to the top of the engine.
if you dont have a 1960 engine you prob have a universal block.

Okay, so my research was on point! Thank you for your response.
There is an oil pressure fitting on the top of the engine as well, where I expected one to be.
Is there any reason to keep or not keep it this way if it all checks out okay? The pressure sender on top is so much easier to access.
