The upper A-arm on the front suspension are Left and Right Handed. The shaft for the A-arm has to be installed with a certain orientation. If you look at the pictures of my upper A-arms you can see their handedness. So that you know the large external bushing goes to the rear on each side when installed. I hope my pictures help out somewhat.

My apologies, yes those are EM upper A-arms. I can only tell you from looking at my parts catalogue that the Upper A-arm assembly is handed, two separate part numbers. For 1965, Part # 3865962 Right, and 3865961 Left. Those are the part numbers for the Assembly with shaft bushings and ball joints. You might check with Clark's, they sell the assemblies overhauled and the tech guy may be able to tell you what specific feature makes it left or right and how you can identify which is which.

According to California Corvair's, this is the handedness of the A-ARMS for an LM:

Not sure if this helps or not...

The 65 bushings ARE the same on each side.
The "A" arms ARE DIFFERENT. It's subtle. This is why it's good to take lots of pictures BEFORE dismantling things.

The ball joint plane is different from the bushing shaft plane. When installed in the car the ball joint mounting surface should be in about the same plane as the car body rocker line. The "A" arm at the bushing shaft slants down from the front of the car towards the rear. Hard to describe, better to go look at another car.

I've probably got a picture, but no time to look now.

They are listed as 65-69 A-ARMS on the California Corvairs website.
