MY NEW BABY

A special thanks to Michael Barney for giving up his baby. Now she's here in Utah and I can't wait to get her plates and tags and on the road.

My wife is hard to impress with cars... any car... anywhere and just so you know Mike she was impressed with this car.

I think the belts are the originals - they have the "Stage Coach" emblem in the middle.. although somewhat corroded I think it's surface stuff and cleanable :)

Didn't see the mark on the windshield to indicate that it's tinted. I'll look again though. I was having too much fun driving it ::-):

Do you think the E (top right corner of the tag) is from the Willow run plant code for the optional Head-rests? I've never seen head rests in a stock Vair... anybody have a picture of what they look like?

http://www.corvairkid.com/65-67rpocode.htm I got that from this site if you scroll all the way down to "Headrests" section.

Also curious what the 758- is above the W5Y.

According to another source the 11A means it was built in November.

And according to another forum members interpretation of my 68 body tag this would be production # 1978... although I find that hard to believe on this car since it was supposedly built in November of '66 and there were 7,330 Corsas built in '66 = they built 5,332 more Corsas in November and December???

If so what a bunch of lucky Christmas presents!!

The 758 is the interior trim code for Tuxedo Black

Oh yeah... I'll learn how to read charts one of these days... blame it on being an engineer.

BTW. That it is... tuxedo black :)

Check this out...

http://chevellestuff.net/1966/paint.htm

click on the link for "El Camino" next to the WW paint code - Chateau Slate...

Now look at the rims on that El Camino...

Now scroll back up and look at the rims on the Corsa

 coincidence?

Very nice! Michael, I believe it's in great hands. Those are some of my favorite GM wheels for a Corvair.
