Re: ENTER - Corvair of the Month March 2017
Hi I am Allen Amrine, many of you know me from the internet, some in person, and some not at all.
I have not had a driving Corvair for some time. I got really lucky to get not only a driver, but a nice rust free 1961 Lakewood! I helped the previous owner get it here from Montana then helped him to get it to his house from storage at a local airport from the hangar there. When we moved it I traded a club member some early model 4 card heads for towing the two wagons, little did I know they would both be mine.
The previous owner gave me the parts wagon, an un-titled Lakewood 500. It has the Comfort and convenience group that includes a side view mirror, glove box light and two speed wipers with washer. Those items will eventually make it to my Lakewood 700
! It was fitted with a 102 hp car engine that runs great! I already have a bunch of tune up stuff for it and plan to clean it well and get it in top shape! It has 1400 miles on the odometer that I am guessing is 101,400! Here are the pictures from moving it from the hangar and a couple since I have it here. Plates should be tomorrow or the next day then it will get some miles for sure. It also came with a nice set of Vintage EMPI wheels I will get tires for when I want the sporty look! I am so happy to have a driver again I bet it does not get a day off for a while!! Thanks for looking and please vote for this really cool wagon!

4 on the trailer you can see the EZ Eye tinted glass all around, yes that is me!
5 Don the previous owner driving it up into his garage
6 I opted to drive it home rather than trailer it. It made it within a block from my house, then fuel issues!
7 &8 the EMPI wheels
9 in the weeds
10 taken today while it was snowing I had to put on my new set of 64 500 center caps!

This one automatically goes to Allen.
Congrats you're in the Calendar and you got a Clark's Gift Certificate to spend on some parts.
