Re: New Guy from CA

I grew up in San Jose and Campbell, and lived there from 1959 until 1969, when my father was transferred from Lockheed Sunnyvale to Lockheed Burbank. At that time we moved to Thousand Oaks in Ventura County. My Grandmother lived in Livermore from the mid 1960's until 1985, when my father retired and relocated to North Carolina (and took her with him). We bought our first family Corvair — a new 1961 Monza coupe — from Courtesy Chevrolet in San Jose (I was 8 years old). I later learned to drive in our 1965 Corsa convertible, and rebuilt my first Corvair engine in Campbell during the summer of 1969. I have a lot of fond Corvair-related memories from that period in Northern California and the Bay Area!
Do you presently own a Corvair or are you still looking? If you are still searching I hope you will take advantage of the Corvair Forum to assist you in your quest, and to answer any questions you might have along the way.

I have an email list called "GFAD" (Go For A Drive) this is all the folks in the area from our club that want to be notified (or notify others) of the plan to just go for a drive. I posted one for tomorrow (Saturday) I am going chabot college in the east bay at 11:30, leaving at 12noon to drive to the Niles Antique district. If folks show up we'll cruise... if Not, I will.
If you'd like to be on that list, let me know by PM here
