Hey all, so basically my grandpa has a set of rims on his corvair. We have been trying to track down exactly WHAT they are, and if we can get some center caps for them. Our search turned uo a 14" 81-88 monte carlo alloy rim, however other than the 2 on ebay we cannot find the same rims anywhere, let alone center caps.
So, i was hoping perhaps someone on these forums would have some information for us :)

Actually figured it out just a short bit ago lol. They're called monte carlo checkerboard rims (i wonder why?). We managed to find the center caps too! 25 years of not knowing has come to an end for my grandpa lol

Re: Rim identification?
lol well they tend to be when the car sits in the garage for 99% of the year! must be some 2 something year old gas in it at this point (with plenty of preservative).
I got some special rims for my own 'vair >:) although having second thoughts as they may require low profile tires, and I'm not a huge fan of that idea.
