Clarks catalog is tough no doubt. A couple of clues: Find the part in the index. If you can't find it in the index, find something related and the part you want is probably on the same page. Also, in the index, if the page number is a range, say page 30-35, don't bother clicking on that page range, just go to the first page "manually". The range option doesn't work. Clarks had been working on a new catalog for at least 10 years. Someday...
I don't think it's that hard. I have a paper copy of the catalog, and look up and browse using that. Then I make a list of part numbers and go on line and enter them, adding those things to my shopping cart. Then go to check out.
Get Clark's paper catalog set. They are excellent. There is a wealth of information in their catalog set that most Corvair people will find helpful (beyond just parts for sale). Free to if you order they reimburse you for the CAT. Paper catalog is easy to navigate well organized and much faster to rummage through then page by page online. I can usually just open the catalog up and get within just a few pages from what I want as I know that engine stuff is in the front, then exhaust, trim is in the back etc. The index is quite good if browsing doesn't work for you.
I always browse, write a parts list and phone it in. The order takers are very efficient and it is very rare to be on hold for more than a couple minutes. This way I am also advised immediately of any shortages or issues with what I am ordering. You could easily order the parts online after catalog look up. The part number search online works well enough.

Initially it was somewhat difficult, but its just different, not hard. If you cruise it enough like I do, day dreaming about the money I don't have, you'll get good at it!

There are many items missing. Many trim items are not available. Not so much for most of what makes our Corvairs go.
