Oddly enough, both the transmissions before '66 and the '66 and beyond are both "Saginaw" Transmissions...

Yours is an early version. The later one is commonly referred to as the "Saginaw". I can't tell for sure, but it looks like an early (63 or before?) rear suspension. If it has a transverse leaf, a '64...

Nice looking 6-port engine!

Good luck with your project...

Looks like a ton of fun! Yup, very early 4-sp. I'm thinking '61 based on the filler plug location and size. There's a chance it's the very rare truck version that had creepy-crawler 4.26:1 first gear. (especially possible if your buggy has 5-bolt wheels - meaning they're likely truck axles)
'61 140 PG Rampside
'66 Rear Alum V8 4-dr
'60 Monza PG coupe (sold, sniff, sniff)
'66 Corsa Fitch Sprint Conv. (First car 1971, recently repurchased)

Nice!.....and welcome to the forum, George! Speaking of the 6-port engine, I always wanted to see a back-to-back engine dyno comparo between a stock headed 140 and then the same motor with a 6-port one.

That buggy sure looks small and light!

Thanks guys, nice forum.

Can someone help me identify the front suspension components? are they corvair parts? spindle, tie rods, etc....
I have looked at Clark's parts catalog and these parts do not look like corvair, maybe VW?
