One Piece vent-less front door windows

Posting this on behalf of Arch Evans for all whom are interested...I'm in for sure!!!

" I've spoken with Ben at One Piece Windows http://www.onepieceproducts.com (888) 663-7763 and scheduled to take my '65 Corvair to One Piece this Friday or Saturday. The prototype process will take a couple of weeks and so too will tooling and manufacturing. A deposit of $200.00 is required of every order. Spread the word, anyone interested will need to call Ben. I'm not involved in the order taking process. We need at least a dozen people to make the initial order for One Piece to be able to prototype and manufacture. Though Ben originally said that a completed kit could cost as much as $900.00 he believes that because so many Corvair parts are shared with other GM cars of the era a more likely price will be closer to $700.00.

They do look good, but I remember my first GM car with the "ventless" side windows - miserable control of airflow. Lots of wind noise and buffeting. I sure missed those side vent windows. Of course now with A/C on all the new cars you just leave the windows up all the time.

Yes...that is how the orange coupe was done and it was a major pita.

It obviously came out great but it took a bazillion man hours of effort.

I've made Lexan door windows for my racecar...not legal for street use.

Hey Phil,

By "PITA" and "Bazillian man hours," does that mean the Camaro glass had to be trimmed, which would require annealing the tempered glass to cut it, or are you referring to the time to get tracks in place and functional? I ask because the hardest part is dealing with the glass if it needs to be trimmed. If the track mechanism is the biggest hurdle, maybe the effort would be worth it if a "kit" could be fabricated for the sale of duplicates. It sounds like you may already know the owner of the orange car, or Arch does, and perhaps a query to him is a possibility?

The time and pita was trimming and grinding the glass.

We have already explored all the other possibilities.

We're making it easy for you in the form of a kit.

This is what One Piece Windows does as a business.

The more people in the less the kit will cost overall.

Maybe I'm getting old. I don't care for the ventless look. I used to love all of the body mods but more and more I'm happy with just a slightly lowered look on some nice rims along with a decent air dam.

X2. Most mods don't stand the test of time, they date themselves. Besides, vent wings offer air flow without the buffering you get with one piece glass. And their frames give you something to hold on to when cornering hard!
