I ordered caliper mounting brackets from scarebird and installed s10 rotors and calipers on the front of my LM. Here is the thing, as the break line comes through the wheel well, it turns 90 degrees toward the front. Since the caliper is mounted towards the rear end of the wheel well, should I bend the brake line 180 so it will be closer to the caliper? If anyone has done this conversion, please give me some advise. Also, where did you get your backer plate?

Re: Conversion to disc brakes
Can you swap the brackets side to side and mount the calipers in front of the axle?
Re: Conversion to disc brakes
I carefully bent the lines to the rear on my car and moved the mounting brackets as my custom setup required the calipers mounted towards the rear.

How about backer plates. What did you use?
Re: Conversion to disc brakes
I used the scarebird brackets with calipers mounted at the rear. You don't need to bend the brake line. Just get a hose long enough to reach. I believe I went with a 17" hose. It fits fine and doesn't interfere with any of the suspension in my car.

This is mine. I made my own brackets to install 89-96 Corvette dual piston calipers. I did not want the brake hose going through the suspension so I bent the hardline to the rear and remounted brackets for the hose attachment. The hard lines are actually the stainless steel reproductions that Clark's sells.

Re: Conversion to disc brakes
I'm in the middle of doing this conversion as well, 4 wheel disc, and was wondering about setting the master cylinder free play. I gather this is done when the system is full of fluid and bled? I'm using the Clark's '67 master on a '64. Is this an easy adjustment to make?
