1st one - 65 Monza Vert with power top and 110 with a 4 spd. Was a bit dilapidated but fun, 2nd was a 1965 Corvair Monza Convertible. PG - 1960 or 61 or 63 80 hp engine - we think...

Also I only really would use it for colored plastic like this, belt buckles things like that, it really is amazing and seems to give some spring back in it.

coleslaw31 - nice results with the crinkle paint on shifter trim and dash - what product (Brand, etc.) are you using? Do you have 'before' shots and how did you mask off the aluminium/chrome that was to not be black?

Thanks for any hints, I'll be going down this path soon!

The paint was just some hi temp wrinkle paint I picked up from advanced auto brand was "VHT" I cleaned painted area with steel wool to knock anything loose off taped up chrome (took my time and a lot of small pieces to cover the edges) :tu:

Well its the little things that count I guess. About the only thing I got done was putting a new rubber piece in the shift boot ::-):

Got the engine running yesterday but seems it got water in it from sitting out in the weather. Plan to rebuild but seems it may be sooner than I thought, what do you guys think?

I cannot get it to directly attach to the thread sorry about having to use the link...

well after seeing how the 66 runs I really just need to stop trying to beat up on a tired old engine and just get a nice dependable drive train. Started going into my engine I bought awhile back which I was told was a good one. So far spirits are high, engine has lightly used pistons that are .020 over and a new oil pump and heads show no signs of a dropped seat. I plan to still put in new seats, seals all around and give it a good cleaning along with refreshing the trans and diff.

Advice is much appreciated, I just need to get a proper running drivetrain then I can focus on body work. :tu:

Started digging more into the engine I got. Looks like a lot of nice work was done on it even has reconditioned clutch and pertronix ignition. Still batting around if I should put new seats in the heads or not, if not I would put new valve springs seals and cut new gasket areas.

I'm liking what I've been seeing here! Can't wait to see you complete this. A restored 66 always gives me a refreshing feel. Keep us posted man!

Getting progress on my engine. Once I have it running and driving the real work will begin and I'll really crank down on body work. Thanks for the support I think it'll be neat to see a 66 corsa among the 65s.
