Re: New to Forum
Hello Corvair Forum Members,
Well I got my fifth Corvair last weekend. It is the first I've owned in 35 years though. 1966 Corsa 4 carb coupe, 4 speed and tele column.
This one is so nice, I don't think I'll cut it for a V8. Drive it for a while. Getting new wide rubber in a couple weeks.

Don't do it Bruce! These cars are getting more and more rare and I hate to see another cut up. Find one w/ the V8 already done!BruceWeeks wrote:Hello Corvair Forum Members,

Re: New to Forum
Definitely not going to cut this one.
It is simply too nice needing only "minor" restoration efforts to bring it back to a really nice car: seat covers, fix the head temp gage and jumpy tach, correct the exhaust, clean up the surface rust and POR the bottom, fix the shifter bushes and missing boots. Door weatherstrips could use replacing too, but I'll do that next winter.
There is an extra antenna in the front fender that was punched in when they couldn't find a rear antenna with a long enough cable, and the rear hole was badly patched before a fresh paint job. That is the biggest thing wrong at this point. I'll get a Clarks repop and fix that next winter also.
So I'll drive it and enjoy going to meets this summer for sure. A few more fix-ups next winter

Re: New to Forum
I did locate another Corsa needing a bit more help than the #1 you've seen here. Also from JTVairs, the motor was running but smoky, some body work needed but solid.
Well on my way to installing the 1971 LT-1 'Vette motor and a Porsche Boxster S transaxle.
Adapting Corvette C4 rear suspension as well.
