HEALTHCARE.GOV -- WHAT A JOKE !!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally got the email and followed the steps precisely -- It said right away to finish the process in one session or you would have to start all over again from step 1 .

So I carefully answered the silly questions and got to the point where it said I could get coverage and to click the continue button -----

Right at that point my puter went into the endless spinning circle mode and was locked up . Yep that 600 million $ website got me . Of course ctrl, alt , del was my only choice so I had to try again

This time all I could get was a message that said ----

Where's Allen Funt ? -- I'm smiling

Today I had a routine regular check up appointment with my doctor.

My appointment was for 09:30 and I arrived about 09:10.

When I walk in the waiting room there are 15 people waiting there.

The answer to the obvious question was yes they're all ahead of you.

I figure I should have known better than to schedule on a Monday morning.

I tell the receptionist to cross me off the list and I'll call back.

On the way out there is a nurse I know coming in to start her shift.

I say to her that I should have known better and she says.

It's because he is the only doctor in the AV to accept obamacare.

She adds that the place is a zoo every day and she is looking for a new office.

Doctor shortages and super long lines just like we predicted.

I'll just change doctors because I'm exempt from obamacare.

I finally have a reason to say thank you to my closed shop union.

But technically I didn't get to keep my doctor either!!!!

UNSAFE I bought my new insurance outside the exchange and the price was the same for the same plan. Difference is outside the exchange they can't have access to my personal health info and I have a better choice of doctors. I am 38 though so I'm in the age bracket paying the highest premiums so older Americans can have cheaper costs. Not sure where you're at but may be worth looking into. I used a local health insurance broker.

i thought part of healthcare.org was the electronic records for all healthcare providers - in or out of the exchange. w/this your personal health info isnt personal anymore. if a plan is outside of the exhange do your records not get electronically transmitted?

Ok -I finally got through !

First off I am unemployed and disabled and my income is less than enough to have to file income taxes

I have prior conditions and I should be a prime example of what Obamacare was supposed to address .

The least expensive option given to me would only pay 60% or less of medical expenses --

---- Yet it would cost twice as much as my annual income


So in the end I am back to where I started .

For the time being... my employer self insures it's employees. But that will have to change with the ACA because of the requirements demanded.
However, my Father used to have all of his med's covered with Medicare Suplimental insurance. He is 90 years old.
As of January 1st, because the ACA took so many Billions out of Medicare... my father now has to pay over $300 each month in Co-Pays for his medicine. Need I mention "fixed income"?

And the lefties like to say the Republicans want to kill the elderly! Ya.. right!

Be careful of the propaganda being spread around. The left is trying to get conservatives to bite with the announcement that Illegal's can get Obama Care. Only problem with that , is the fact that you don't need to be a citizen to buy insurance in the first place!

As long as you don't have major medical issues, insurance is a waste. I hurt my leg back in Dec, to the point I couldn't walk on it. I went in to see my doc, he set me up for an MRI. Before the MRI someone had told me to ask for the cash price, as we had not met our deductable and the insurance would not cover any of it. To put it thru ins would cost me $998 for the MRI. Cash price was $428....... So I avoided the insurance so I didn't have to pay $1,000. It's all a joke.

Just wait until next year when all these insurance co's raise the rates because of pre existing conditions & the meds people are on like my mentally ill wife. Her meds are close to $300 a month, she has no income & doesn't qualify for medicare & i'm on Social Security. I got her signed up to the ACA but it wont start until May 1st.. Things are looking GRIMM here in good old USA. This ACA will take a big hit in this first year & you can be assured we will pay for it. Why should I have to claim my SS as income when it's already my money which I paid in for 40 years, i'm only getting back what it rightly mine. Them Dems rob Peter to pay Paul!!!!!!!!!!!

If all of this conversation about Obamacare frustrates you, please don't get so angry and frustrated that you choose to stay home and to not vote in November. Some of that apparently happened in November 2012 and we ended up with Obama reelected! From what I can see he who lies best and lies the most gets elected by those who vote based on false promises -- voting for those who say WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR! The voting majority voted for the flim flam man -- the snake oil salesman who told not the truth, but told voters what they wanted to hear. They voted for hope and change again. Now they see and hear and are having to face reality and many are suffering from "buyer's remorse"

We have a chance to rein some of this in and to correct -- to some extent -- the errors of 2008 and 2012. So do some research. Educate yourself on the problems and issues this country faces, and use the power of your vote to help this country to make a course correction. If Republicans can gain control of the Senate, there is at least a chance to start down a better path. And hopefully both parties will get a dose of the angry voter and will start listening to the needs of the country, to put us on a path to rebuild and to reduce this massive, unsustainable, out of control spending and national debt.
