Not 65 Monza....they were silver all over. 66-69 with added tach.
Corvair guy since 1982. I have personally restored at least 20 Vairs, many of them restored ground up.

Re: Another dash cluster question
From the picture provided that can only be a non-Corsa dash from a 1966 manual transmission Corvair.
1965 non-Corsa dashes were silver, not wrinkle black. Dashes in 67-69 had a parking brake indicator light at the 6 o'clock position in the fuel gauge group. It also can't be a 67-69 dash because below the headlight and wiper switch holes would be a silver strip marker "HEADLIGHTS" and "WIPERS".
The tach is of course not OEM.

Wow, where did you get that? What brand tach is that? I had one mounted in my 500 back in 1970!

Whoever did the tach install did an excellent job! It's a perfect fit and looks factory. They even kept the factory pointed lense in the hole. The back is not butchered up either. It's just a very nice job. It could pass for a factory setup if one didn't know better.

Are we viewing the same photo? It's a clean install maybe but it doesn't come close to matching the OEM look (except for the diameter).

Re: Another dash cluster question
I agree, it doesn't look like the OEM tach (style) but the fit and install look very good. If a person hadn't seen one with a factory tach he could assume it was original. The guy I got it from swore it was factory. Until I showed him a true tach dash he wouldn't believe me. lol

Re: Another dash cluster question
Well, the tachometer style chosen for this modified LM Monza instrument panel was similar to the style used by Chevrolet in the EM Spyders, as opposed to the 270° sweep used on LM Corsa tachometers!

Here are a couple of other approaches...

A non-automotive person maybe.Racemaster wrote:If a person hadn't seen one with a factory tach he could assume it was original.

Font style is different, font color is different, sweep is different, needle is different, no silver circular inner ring like the other two gauges and the numbers are inside the face on the background of the gauge and not arranged around the exterior painted in reverse on the clear cover. I also don't see a domed clear cover but the photo is not that clear, looks flat to me.
