Finally found an intake!

Picked it up at the Performance workshop, in Indiana. This is roughly what I'll be working with in my Corsa: 45 DCOE, E compressor, B turbine, Crown housing. I'm still undecided about whether to use an intercooler, or water/methanol injection. Either way, it's gonna haul!

What makes the Crown exhaust housing different than the original B-flow housing?

The inside of the housing is much smaller, to increase gas speed. You can tell just by comparing them side by side, even the turbine inlet is much smaller than stock. It might end up being too small though, so I have a stock B housing and another turbo with stock 180 F stuff in it. That way I can always swap, to meet my performance goals.

That combo may be great for in-town performance though I'd think it may choke at speed. I'm curious as to how it will perform so report back on what your driving impressions are.. Like you said, you can always swap components around to find the right combo for your performance goals.

I figured since I've already seen what a 180 does with stock turbo, which is not much around town and mostly higher RPM highway type performance, I might as well give the other end of the spectrum a try with the B wheel and tight housing. I'm after more off the line performance with this iteration, but like I said if it hits too fast I can always swap to a stock B housing. Only other thing I wish I had for comparison is an F-flow Crown housing, then I could really get a handle on which combo provides what kind of performance. I guess I can always cut and weld the one I have...

Did Crown ever make an F-flow exhaust housing?

I've seen 180hp Crown housings for sale, so I can only assume that they did. Clarks used to offer the cut/welded 180 housing, but now the only thing they do is rebuilds. They also used to have E-flow parts, but nothing now.

What compresssion ratio are you running and how much boost are you planning on running? What RPM do you think that the boost will come on?

The car is still in primer, see my build thread in 'Members Rides'. I'll post updates when the car is back on the road, for now all I've done is drop off the setup at the body shop to be installed.

CJ: it's a 180 with .030 over slugs, don't know the compression. I plan to take it to at least 15 PSI with water injection, but I can't say for sure right now because I have not driven it.
