Someone needs to combine EM & LM body parts and build a LEM or a ELM. ::-):

Yeah, I'm sure it's been done...

Having now owned 2 of each, it's really hard to pick. But since I currently have a LM, I will vote that way. Though lately (pardon the pun), I've been really liking the look of the EM convertibles. Let's see - my wife doesn't have a Corvair yet...

:whoa: That's the best reason I've heard today for buying another Corvair! And for those who don't have a wife, buy another Corvair anyway! Then you can use the Corvair to start looking for a wife to put in it!

For an illustrative storyboard depicting how the latter is done, see: viewtopic.php?f=81&t=4411

When I found my 18-year-old future bride, she was driving a stick-shift Volkswagen Beetle, so she was already familiar with air-cooled rear engines, and she knew how to drive a stick-shift. A GOOD SIGN! We gave owned and driven numerous Corvairs all over the USA and in Europe for decades, and we will soon celebrate our 41st anniversary, so I guess I made the right choice! ::-):

I cast my vote for earlies. Just something about the ride with the swing axle. Yeah, not as good handling or braking as a late, but the feel is incredible!

Let me see if I can state this in a way that will confuse most but where it is still understandable..

Late model guys have to feel grateful of the early model.

For if there was no early model

They would be stuck driving what then would be the early model, and you know that they would then sell them for they do not like the early model.

Then they would have to drive Falcon's :neener:

And we then would still have the early models to drive, :tu:

and we could laugh at them driving their Falcon's... :rolling:

If it looks like it it was designed in the 1950's and it is model years 1960 to 1964 then it is a early model. :EMs Rule:

If it looks like it it was designed in the 1970's and it is model years 1965 to 1969 then it is a late model. :LMs rule:

Personally - I like the early models best. They have more style in my opinion.

Hi All:
Maybe I can do two posts...Since I like both....In the EM's I have always admired the Rampside Pickup :rafman: In the LM's I still own a '65 Monza convertible that was built in CANADA  I don't think or actually know if there are many of the Canadian Built Corvairs left since our weather up here gave them quite a beating....Well that's my :my02:

There were only 679 Corvair Monza Convertibles built in Canada in 1965!

For Early and Late Model Corvair production figures
in both the USA Image and in CanadaImage see the following:
