I bought two u pipes from Clarks . Then I ordered two mufflers from Summit Racing, PN Sum-630122, and had the local muffler shop install them. He did a real good job of tucking them where they do not hang down where they could be seen. The car really sounds good. At least that is what all the car guys tell me.

Hey there, Hightone110. On an old '65 Corsa turbo I used to have (it had a 140 in it), I ran headers but to a 2 1/2" single exhaust that exited through the cutout in the body, like a stock turbo exhaust would. I believe I installed the headers on the opposite sides of the engine that they were supposed to go, to make the outlets face forward. A muffler shop fabbed it up, sort of mimicking a stock single crossover, but more clean and with better flowing bends. It was clean and sounded great! I used a somewhat long glasspack muffler and a chrome megaphone tip coming out the body. Sounded a bit Porsche-like.

Hi there I used a flowmaster 40 series 2.5 inch muffler to the stock y pipe got an adapter at autozone i tink it was 2inch id to 2.5 inch od had to tilt the muffler to the right side about 45 deg so the outlet would come out right were the stock one was i then used a 2.5 chrome exhaust tip a short one only 5.00 dollars at autozone it sounds great real mean for a stock 102 pg turns heads everywere looks good too you can see a little of the muffler but not bad also I had to heat the y pipe up and bend it down just a tad so the outlet would go under the rear panel I think my y pipe was bent because the outlet of the pipe was angled up a little so bending it made it straight I will post some pics later the total price 100.00 muffler 80.00 adapter 5.00 tail pipe 5.00 tax took the rest i welded it my self clamped the muffler onto the adapter welded the adapter to the y pipe and welded the tip to the muffler also one nice thing is you dont have to remove this muffler to adjust the valves very nice

A few years ago i went out and bought Clark's ultimate headers but then went out and bought some turbo mufflers instead. They sound great and had some tips laying around and they look great. Drove around with them for a few years and would always get asked if i had a V8 motor in the car. turbo mufflers give out a nice deep sound when driving.

I use a basically stock Y pipe ( had one remade from scratch ) and have it mounted to a Flowmaster 40 series 2" exhaust. It sounds mean and sets car alarms off. I have no extraction attached to it though. The tip of the muffler sticks out just far enough to extract beyond the bottom of the car. When a tip is added to the muffler it quiet's it down a bit and makes it sound very European. I get asked almost daily if the car has a V8. The 1.7 ratio ford rocker arms help make it lope a little more I guess? The Flowmaster is a center in offset out. It clears the stock valve covers enough to do a replacement without exhaust removal. It will not accommodate an oversized aluminum cover though.
