Nice!! I love it! Strange place to have rust, but maybe the interior had wet carpets for a while. At any rate, WELCOME and good luck and show us your progress. That thing really looks sort of time-capsule-ish. VERY original! I noticed the Warren Biggs Chevrolet in L.A. license plate frame. Where are U at?

Welcome, that does look like a good car to start with, It is affectionately known as a "caveman" because of the one year only concave nose. Some people say that in 1960 Chevrolet built a Corvair, in 1961 Chevrolet built another Corvair. Because there are a lot of differences between the first model and the rest. But with that being said that makes the 1960 model year special.
As far as other things you need to know just peruse the many threads here on this site.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Cave Cars... Your fun is just starting.... You will not regret your new purchase..
:welcome2:
My first Corvair was a three year old Red '60 Sedan, drove it until 1975 never gave me problems. Have had about 10+ Corvairs over the years and have six in the yard now.
I just purchased another '60 Sedan that could be the sister of yours. Red Automatic Sedan 700 model. Got it in Las Vegas, NV.

Look in the engine compartment there is a tag to the left side, post the stamped on information post the information or Photo and we can tell you a lot about it.. Also the VIN# will tell some, You will find a lot of helpful people here..

:welcome2: From MAINE Nice starter project. Great rescue :tu: . I find that roof rusting interesting. I wonder if the roof had good chips of paint off and left exposed for a long period of time. :sad5: There doesn't seem to show in the picture rust around the chrome . The guys here pack alot of knowledge and postings of information here that will asist you alot. Welcome aboard, CG :rolling:

Sweet cars, I love thise 60's. It seems like red was a popular color for that year.

I am jealous - I wanted that car but could not get a hold of my cousin in Hembolt, I desire to get one of each of the 60 models in red, have a 500 sedan, a 700 coupe and a Monza, just needed the 700 sedan and the 500 coupe
